Do you recommend getting a home inspector?
I recently shifted to my new house in Florida. It is a duplex 4 bedroom bungalow, with 3 bathrooms, a kitchen, basement, front and back porch, and a living room. Why I am talking about the new house is to talk about the magnitude of the overall area, and the seriousness needed to get it checked inside out.
Earlier I had almost booked a bungalow wherein we found everything to be quite okay, yet I insisted on hiring an inspection officer. Even after we thought we were done with all the repair work, I still got it inspected. And true to all my suspicions, the house we were eyeing on was in a miserable state. Be it the drainage system, the ventilation, leakages in the attic, everything was just wrong with the house.
So I got this new place booked, got it inspected and only once all the reports were positive, we planned on buying this house. I am honestly pretty happy with this decision. Especially for such big investments like buying a property, I personally believe in having a second opinion by an expert. They can guide you through the house, mark out things that require repairs or replacements and give you a comprehensive report by the end. This way you can make a wise decision while making sure that your money is well invested in the right kind of property.
Here is a suggestion that I would personally recommend for Property Inspections:
